Priceless Handicraft

Mum was keeping these paper handicraft for 20years. She took it out for me to use. My aunt who used to cut the words, shapes every year had passed away years back. Too bad that her skill was not pass on to others.

Sang Ye

Mum said Sang Ye is very good but she can't remember what are the benefits. We have this plant outside bro's house. Mum always take the leaves to boil for drink or bathe.

First time I saw the fruits. Took two of it.. it tasted a bit sour with a little bit of sweetness.

Common name: White mulberry leaf

While cleaning the old drawers, I threw many things except few books. I flipped the books to check if I can find money. I have this hobby to keep money in books. Indeed, I found some old notes and one of it is S$20 below. It has been years since I last seen S$20.

Udon wannabe

After I watched Japs variety show on Tue nite, I was so eager to make udon at home. Simple recipe : Wheat flour & tofu. Mix the two without water to become a dough. Then put into ziploc bag and step on it for 5minutes. Take it out and roll flat. Fold and roll again and slice. Last step is boil till cook.

I wanted to use ikan bilis t make the soup but found some chinese herbs+black chicken packed by mum. So, I boiled the ingredients with added chicken meat and steamed some broccoli, carrot & big enoki.

Lucky that bro said "Got some udon taste".. haha..

A Day @KTM Tj Pagar

KTM Tanjong Pagar closed on June 30th. A week before its closure, bro & I brought niece to visit the railway station. Enjoying afternoon snacks and breeze for the last time @KTM.

Nice Synergy

This is supposed to be a mystery till the actual day. But I would like to share with my frens that are happy for us. To view the rest of it, please wait till the dinner ya ;) or you can drop by by my desk ... hehe..

Being at home is always full of eating & baking. Last week, mum cooked laksa because I craved for it.. then i baked bread because mum craved for it.. hehe.. and i wanted to try japs cheesecake since last year. Finally, i bought the ingredients and managed to bake it twice.

Ready to eat! Taken 5 bowls on that day..hehe..

Followed the recipe from newsppr, first trial with some raisins.

Mum cooked rice wine meesua with fish & fried egg+ginger for dinner

Freshly out from oven half an hour ago. Second trial with more raisins+walnut with improved oat flour

Second trial on japanese light cheesecake. this time i divided the mixture into one big pan and small cups (still baking!)

Hope I can go to bed soooooon.....

Updates May 2011

After months of waiting, finally we got the key and started designing the house early last month. Yup.. designing, by the best interior designers from unit#9. Everything was fast from selecting contractor to hacking and building. My major contribution was shopping. Shopping for lighting, kitchen sink, kitchen tap, kitchen tiles, heater, sofa, dining set etc. I wish I was shopping for Omega and Hermes... haha.. For the same price, I can get many O&H! We still have a lot to buy such as mattress, fridge, washer, oven etc. Although we were tired at the end of the day, the feeling of buying all these stuffs for the new house was amazing.

Most of the time, I am remotely away, Uncle Helmet (as called by niece, I dunno why) is supervising the work and of course paying! Hahaha.. Everytime I drop by, I will see new things coming up. Soon, we will have a little garden at frontyard with nice grass. The gardener should be installing the underground piping any time from now. I am glad that finally we got a house of our own and making every effort out of it to be our new home sweet home :)
