Kallang Leisure Park

First time to Kallang Leisure Park. We left office around 10am to greet special friends there. They are in their early 20s. I was assigned to take care of Wei Lun, together with me was Carol whose beneficiary is Kim Chun. It was a fun day where I taught Wei Lun how to hold the bowling ball, guided him at the alley and enjoyed the company. Btw, he strike twice. Wei Lun is obedient. When I told him to put down his hands, he will put down. I told him not to poke his mouth, he will stop. Then I wiped his fingers. He gave me the other hand too. Some of the conversations:

Me: What is your name?
Wei Lun: My name is Chong Wei Lun!
Me: What is my name?
Wei Lun: My name is Lily! (He always got my name right)
Me: Are you ready (to bowl)?
Wei Lun: YES!!

whereas for Kim Chun, he will spell his name out. Both of them have different characteristics. Wei Lun more active and always laugh and sing. Kim Chun is quiet at times social-able.

After toilet break,
Me: Did u wash your hands?
Wei Lun: wash hand already
Kim Chun: i wash my hand already

During lunch, Wei Lun tried to smell the dishes and the trainer told him not to do so. Then i guided him to get his food. He loves fish.

Me: Do you want some fish?
Wei Lun: YES!!

whereas Kim Chun,

Me: Do you like the food?
Kim Chun: Noodle, nuggets
Me: Do you want some more food?
Kim Chun: nugget, nugget, n-u-g-g-e-t

About other beneficiaries: One of the them ran on the bowling alley while 3 trainers went after him and settled him. Another one is hyperactive. The trainer always pull him. The other spitted on a trainer's face and the trainer reprimanded him. One lady very shy and always smile. One Malay guy loud-spoken and many more.

While we were queuing for the bus, I was holding a beneficiary's hand. His name is Xin Hui. A big size guy yet quiet. When I asked for his name, he answered softly & shyly. Sometimes, he put my palm on his chest.

We are not allowed to take pictures as some of them are under protection order. But the trainers help to take some pictures.. Hopefully I will get to see.

Bottle Tree Park

While I was writing this blog, my 8-month old niece was beside me playing on my bed. She wanted to reach my notebook by trying very hard to crawl over me...hahaha..

Anyway, Bottle Tree Park. Bro and I went there today for voluntary event organized SIA collaboration with my company. At 2:45pm, elderly from SunLove arrived. Then Fei Yue followed by AWWA etc. A few of us were assigned to take care of SunLove. While waiting for guests of honour, we distributed goodie bags, fruits, ballons as well as escorted the elderly to toilet. After the event was officially launched, there were games for the elderly and disabled children and it came with gifts.

Although we all were tired, we enjoyed the whole event. The joy, laughters and fun that we shared with elderly were priceless. It was really a great event.
